Michael Glucksmann is an accomplished guitarist, music producer, mix engineer and teacher. Coming from the Blues and Rock world he had developed the interest in other genres such as Jazz, Fusion, Latin music, Progressive Rock, Metal, Free improvisation, sound experimentation and electronic music. Starting his guitar studies at the age of 12, his interest in music continued as he graduated in 2004 from The Charles E. Smith Jerusalem High School for the Arts majoring in music, followed by The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in 2012 with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Guitar under prof. Steve Peskoff and prof. Yossi Levi. In 2014 he earned his Pearson Level 3 Diploma in Music Technology (QCF) from the Music Production and Sound Engineering department in DBS Music Berlin, University of St Mark & St John, Plymouth, England. During these years of professional training, Michael lead and took part in various bands and musical productions such as: D3 Radicalz (2008-2009) - Lead guitarist and co-arranger. The alternative rock band independently released one album called Phantom-Itch (2008). Shira Z Carmel Quartet (2011-2013) Lead guitarist and Arranger. A Jerusalem – based Rock/Jazz/Cabaret band that had participated in the Yellow Submarine’s professional band projects in Jerusalem. The Band performed in various venues in Israel including the biggest indie-rock festival – IndieNegev. The Band independently released an album called – Kohelet Tzadak (2013). Kung Fu Mashup (2010-2013) Co-Founder, Arranger, Vocalist and Lead Guitarist. The group have consisted of first-class Jazz musicians from Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv (Dor Heled, Itai Morchi, Avishai Rozen), and have performed in many different venues and festivals in Israel including – Layla-Lavan (Tel-Aviv), Indigo - International electronic music festival (Kineret), Indie-City (Jerusalem). The band Independently released 2 singels and a 3 song EP.
Simulakra (2012 – currently active) - Co-Founder, Arranger, Vocalist and Lead Guitarist. At first, the group was based in Jerusaslem, playing in different venues. In early 2013 the group released a 3-song EP called Simulakra. Currently the group is active in Berlin, concentrating on recordings and bookings, Aiming to release an album by the summer of 2015.
Along with the creative activity, Michael was also teaching guitar, guiding ensembles, giving music theory/ear training lessons and preparing for matriculation exams independently as well as in various musical institutes in Jerusalem: The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance Conservatory - as part of 'Perach' scholarship program, Gonenim Music Centre - Jerusalem, The Society for Advancement of Education - Boyer Boarding School for Excellence in Jerusalem’, Cellcom Volume Music Centre in Bet Shemesh, Lenagen Be Kef - Music Centre - Jerusalem.
Currently based in Berlin, Michael is focusing on Simulakra's next album and coming tours. In addition Michael is also co-producing and mixing several other musical projects for artists: Kudo low and Shmuel Zeltzer, interning and working under mix and sound engineer Maurizio Borgna.
